On May 22nd 2023, the body of a young man named Sanjay MurliDhar Vawadane (aged 48) was found in the Satwan Talav (Satwan Lake) located in the western part of Dharur city, near the Balaghat hills. The incident took place in the morning when the man’s body was discovered floating in the water. The news of the incident spread in the city after some people witnessed the presence of a body in the lake. The police were informed, and after investigation, the deceased was identified as Sanjay MurliDhar Vawadane, who resided in the nearby vicinity of the city.
It was reported that he had been feeling depressed for several days, and he had mentioned his intention to commit suicide by jumping into the lake. The police have initiated further investigation into the matter under the guidance of Assistant Police Inspector Vijay Atolé.
